PI Discussions Procedure

Coordinators: Moses Chao, Ph.D., Molecular Pathogenesis & Ariel Ruiz i Altaba, Ph.D., Developmental Genetics

The PI discussion group is held twice a month. All presentations are held on Wednesdays at 12:00 noon in the third floor conference room, unless otherwise noted. Each PI has been randomly assigned a date for his or her presentation. If the assigned date conflicts with your schedule, please switch with another PI and revise the PI Discussions Schedule accordingly.

  1. Two weeks prior to each presentation, Laura Kosko will contact the presenting PI to confirm the date and request the title of the PI's presentation.

  2. One week before the talk, Laura will send out an e-mail to all PIs ( pi@saturn.med.nyu.edu ) and Project Assistants listing the speaker, title of presentation, date, time, and location (usually the 3rd Floor Conference Room). This e-mail should also include a reminder of who will be next to deliver a presentation.

  3. Laura will contact the speaker to verify any audio/visual equipment necessary for the presentation.

  4. The Monday before the talk, Laura will place a lunch order for approximately 22 people with Todaro's.

  5. One day prior to the presentation, Laura will send another reminder e-mail in the morning to all PIs and Project Assistants.

  6. On the day of the presentation, Laura will send a final e-mail reminder and set up the audio/visual equipment and lunch by noon.

  7. Laura will process all reimbursements. A detailed expenditure report will be updated by Central Administration on a regular basis and provided to the Chair of the Seminar Committee for Review. This will ensure that we are staying within the budgetary constraints and allow for future planning.

If you have any further questions, please contact Laura Kosko or Ralph Maldari.
