Image Acquisition and Processing System
for CM12 TEM and Optical Diffraction

An image aquisition and processing system based on a DT3152 Frame Grabber installed on a Pentium 100 computer is recently furnished to:

  1. Acquire optical diffraction pattern and perform image average and other image processing function so as to enhance the S/N ratio and sensitivity.
  2. Process the electron microscopy image from CM12 image intensifier, store the digitized images in computer, processing the images and print out the images so as to reduce the film consumption.

To run the system for optical diffraction. Connect the BNC connector to the T-connector of the CCD camera control box and start the Image Tool program by double click on the IT icon.

To run the system for CM12 TEM. Connect the BNC connector to the Video 2 connector of the Image Intensifier control box and start the Image Tool program by double click on the IT icon.

The operation instruction for the Image Tool program is available in E.M. Lab. For more information, please check the following web sites:

  1. Variable-Scan Monochrome PCI Bus Frame Grabber

  2. Frame Grabber SDK and SDK for Windows 95

  3. UTHSCSA ImageTool Software
