A Final Cut Pro system is the primary non-linear video editing tool at the Media Services Facility. Consisting of a G4 Power Macintosh, storage array, DVD burner and Mammoth 2 tape drive, the system is connected via firewire through a Laird BlueFlame AD-DA converter to composite, Y/C and full component analog video lines to a rack of Beta SP, S/VHS and Hi-8 players and recorders. The system also includes AfterEffects, Premiere, Cleaner Pro and Apple's DVD Pro. Video programs may be created from existing analog tapes and digital media files, and then distributed on tape, CD ROM, DVD or the Internet Our flat editing fee is $100 per hour.
Media Services has all the equipment necessary to capture your event on Digital Video tape. For 72 hour advance notice we offer incredibly inexpensive rates of $320 for the first hour and $160 for each additional hour during our regular business hours. We can deliver a DVD 2 camera rough cut or edit the footage at $100 per hour.
Finally, Media Services manages NYUMC's two Real Servers and we can transcode video ($25 per clip) using the Real Video codec and host the clips for streaming from your NYUMC website.
