NYU Protein Analysis Facility Home

The goal of the NYU Protein Analysis Facility is to assist scientists at NYU with their research by helping them to characterize proteins of interest. The facility provides access to equipment and technical expertise on a fee-for-service basis which in general is much more cost effective than establishing the techniques in each of the user's laboratories. The NYU Protein Analysis Facility is located in the Seaver Mass Spectrometry Suite (Lab 5-18) on the 5th floor of the Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Medicine, within the NYU School of Medicine campus. Currently we can provide the following on a fee-per-service basis:

MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry
Q-TOF mass spectrometry (MS/MS peptide sequencing)
Ion Trap mass spectrometry (MS/MS peptide sequencing)
Proteolysis and identification of proteins from SDS-PAGE gels
Phosphoprotein analysis

If you are interested in Q-TOF or Ion Trap mass spectrometry, phosphoprotein analysis, protein identification, or in-gel digestion, please contact Dr. Chongfeng Xu at (212) 263-7266 (xucf@saturn.med.nyu.edu).

For MALDI-TOF analysis, please contact Mr. Steven Blais at (212) 263-7266 (sblais@saturn.med.nyu.edu).

For any other questions, please contact the facility director:
