How to report Backup problems
To report a problem with Retrospect backup in Skirball follow these instructions. We need some information in order to be able to troubleshoot Retrospect problems. Once you have the necessary information you can email it to us.
Detailed Instructions
We need to know the IP address of your Macintosh. Go to the Apple Menu in the upper left corner of your screen, pull it down, go to Control Panels, hold your mouse there so it expands into a submenu and move your cursor down to TCP/IP. This will open the TCP/IP Control Panel.
Write down the IP address and close this Control Panel. The IP address is where the red arrow point in the screenshot on the right.
Go back to the Apple Menu and go to the Control Panels again. Go all the way down to find the Retrospect Client Control Panel. If there is no Retrospect Client Control Panel THAT IS THE PROBLEM! In such case let us know and we'll install the Retrospect Client Control Panel.
If Retrospect Client Control Panel is actual there, then open it. Write down the Client Name and the contents of the Status and History windows. Once you have all that information email it to us.
If you're running Mac OSX please go to the Apple Menu: System Preferences and open the Sharing Control Panel. It looks like the screenshot on the right. Email it to us Computer Name and the Network Address so we can identify your machine.
