You
should move your Eudora Folder to a safe location for two reasons:
- someone may accidentally delete your settings and your mailboxes while
trying to set up a new set of preferences
- Eudora only asks for password when downloading new mail, your mail
that is already in your Eudora mailbox can be read by anybody
- your hard drive may crash and you may loose the most recent mail you
have downloaded.
The best place to keep your Eudora Folder is your Saturn directory.
This way no one can read your e-mail without accessing your Saturn directory
first which is password protected.
First,
quit Eudora Light and open your Eudora Folder. Find a file named
Eudora Settings. This file contains all the setting you
have just created. You can double click on it and Eudora Light
will launch.
Because of this many users can share one copy of Eudora Light.
Each user would click on the Eudora Settings file in their own
Eudora Folder, instead of Eudora Light itself, to open Eudora
with settings customized for them.
That's why its necessary to keep this folder in a safe location.

Now
you should copy the whole Eudora Folder into your Saturn directory
and trash the one in the System Folder. Empty the trash before
you proceed!

Next,
open the Eudora Folder on your Saturn directory and make an alias
on the Eudora Settings file.
Click once on Eudora Settings just to highlight it an choose Make
Alias from the File menu.
An
alias is created next to the Eudora Settings file. Rename the
alias in a way that is easily recognizable as your mail file:
Mary's Mail, My Mail, Steve's Mail, etc.
Hold
the Option key and drag the renamed alias to your desktop. This
copies the alias from your Saturn directory to your local hard
drive.
From now on you would double click on this alias to launch Eudora
Light with your settings active. Remember that you have to have
your Saturn directory mounted on your desktop for this to work.
NOTE:
After you have moved your Eudora Folder away from your drive,
Eudora will loose track of the Attachments Folder and default
back to the new, blank one inside Eudora Folder that it will create
in the System Folder. You will
need to set your Attachments Folder setting again so that
it points to the one that was moved to your Saturn directory.
