Setting up Entourage 2004 for OSX as IMAP client to check your Saturn email - page 2 of 3
Updated on October 20th, 2006 - a major and confusing error on page 3 (SSL settings) was corrected, so if you've printed this page out for reference prior to this date please re-print it
This is the second page of Entourage IMAP configuration instructions. It requires all steps form page1.
Go to the Tools menu and chose Accounts as shown on the screenshot on the right.
Click the Mail button (it should be selected by default though) and double click on the account you have just created to access its setting.
This window should be already familiar to you, it's the one you've started with. You can come back here later if you want to uncheck the Save password... option, but for now leave it checked.

Click the Options button on the top...
The Options window will look like this by default and most of these settings need to be changed! See the next screenshot...
Uncheck all options and check Always download complete message bodies.... This should be the only option checked. See the next screenshot..

In the Root folder text box type ~/mail - this is one of the most critical settings:

~/mail

No spaces, no quotes, exactly as shown. if you make a mistake here you will not see your email in Entourage at all.

This tells Entourage where to look for messages on the server. This is the mail folder in your home directory on saturn.

Click the OK button, the window will close but you'll need to return to this window in a few minutes.

You may see a progress window briefly afterwards as Entourage will look for and load your email.

In the main Entourage window you will now see your email on the left as Entourage sees it. On the right you will see the actual files on Saturn. Some folders may still be missing so you will need to force Entourage to reload the mail. Hold the Control key on your keyboard and click on Skirball (or whatever you've called this account) a contextual menu will pop up (this is equivalent of right-clicking if you have multi-button mouse) - select Receive Complete Folder List...
Your email folders on Saturn on the right will now be reloaded. If some of them don't appear in the list on the left, under your account they they will most likely be grayed out on the right. That means Entourage does not see these folders, they are not "subscribed to". Enabling Entourage to see IMAP folders is called "subscribing"....

More info on subscribing to IMAP folders can be found here.
In such case Control-click or right-click on such folder and select Subscribe. Now that folder will appear on the list of the left.
You will need to have the following folders on the right, and they will have to be subscribed to (seen on the left):

sent-mail
postponed-messages
trash

They may already be there if you used IMP or another IMAP client. And you need to subscribe to them. If they're not there you will have to create them first, then subscribe to them. Go to the next page.
