Setting up Mozilla Thunderbird as IMAP client - page 2
You have closed the Account Settings window for now, but we'll be back there later. Now, we need to make Thunderbird refresh the email list to reflect some of the changes we have made in the previous steps. Click on the name of your account and....
... down on the right click Manage folder subscriptions link.
The Subscriptions window will open. Click the Refresh button. Then make sure that all the folders you want to be able to access have checkmarks and click the Subscribe button.
Now click OK to close this window.
You may have to force Thunderbird to refresh the view, do it by clicking on the little triangle next to the name of your account...
... so the list of folders collapses, then click it again so...
... the list expands again. Now you should see all your subscribed email folders.
OK, now go back to the Tools menu and choose Account Settings...
Select Copies & Folders from the list of settings...
Now you want to tell Thunderbird where to keep copies of your sent mail. Click Other and from the drop down menu select the sent-mail on saturn as shown on the image to your right.
Now, do the same for drafts (messages that you save for later mailing)
Next step is to disable Thunderbird's spam checking feature since we're filtering email with Spam Assassin on the server. Select Junk Settings and uncheck the Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account option.
As mentioned before you can change the frequency of email checking here, but please do not select intervals lower than 5 minutes. Click OK to go back to main window.
This is it, your Thunderbird is all set up. For more tips and tricks, FAQ's and advanced setting visit Thunderbird support website.
