Using Fetch for OSX
This page shows how to use Fetch under Mac OSX. However, if you use Fetch under Mac OS9 the procedure is nearly identical so no separate instructions page is required. The main differences are in the look of the interface and the layout of the Connection window.
Download and unstuff it and copy it to your Applications directory. Double click to launch Fetch. NYU SoM users can download Fetch from here. See the enclosed instructions.
When you launch Fetch you will be presented with the default, blank New Connection window as shown on the right.
Click on the little triangle above the word Shortcuts to expand the window and fill in the server address under Host, user name under User ID, password and the Initial directory as shown in the right. If you don't fill in the Initial directory you will go to the root of Titan server and you will need to navigate through to your destination which many may find confusing. Do not click OK yet. At this point you can save this as a shortcut so next time you will not have to type in all this information all over again but simply select Titan's address from the Shortcuts menu...

(Both User ID and Password for Titan server are Titan)
Check the Add to Keychain checkbox so it will remember the password. click on the Shortcuts menu and select Create New Shortcut. Let it go so it closes. Now if you click on it you will see a shortcut to titan at the bottom of the list as shown in the next step.
From now on you just need to select the titan shortcut from the Shortcuts menu.

Click OK to connect.
After connecting you should see the window as it's shown on the right. You will need to scroll down a bit to see the DMC directories such as Park Till 5am, makeslides, etc.
Here is the Fetch window after scrolling down a little. You can also stretch it by dragging the bottom right corner of the window if your directory names show truncated. Double-click on a directory to open it. Use the drop down menu on the top of the window to go back in the directory hierarchy.
To upload files to a server simply highlight them all and...
...drag them to an open directory on the ftp server.
To download files from a server do the opposite and simply drag them from the Fetch window to a location on your desktop or into a folder. To select multiple files Shift-Click on the files. You can also download files by simply double clicking on them. They will be downloaded to your default download location as specified in the Fetch Preferences.
Whether you're downloading or uploading files you will see a progress in the right side of the Fetch window where it says Transfer. It shows the transfer speed and how much data has been transferred. The circle shows you overall progress of the transfer. If you're transferring small files and/or your connection is very fast you may not see the progress if it happens too fast.
