How to login to Jupiter and Titan

As of February 12th, 2008 Saturn no longer accepts file sharing connections from Macs (AFP) and from PCs (SMB). Whenever you were using saturn.med.nyu.edu or saturn.skb.med.nyu.edu just use jupiter.med.nyu.edu or jupiter.skb.med.nyu.edu instead.
We will try to replace all instances of saturn with jupiter on our help pages, but it may take some time, or we may miss a few. So as a rule of a thumb, whenever connecting to your home directory, lab space, admin space, Public Stuff, Office or Adobe software distributions always use jupiter from now on. Use the same username and password: jupiter is saturn's twin:)

To access Saturn use your Saturn account username and password - the same you use to check your @saturn e-mail. It is usually your last name in lowercase.

To access Titan use the username Titan and password Titan. It's not required to have Saturn account to access Titan. Users from outside of Skirball can use Titan's volumes to submit work to DMC, to move their files out of Skirball after they've used Skirball DMC facilities, to exchange files with users in Skirball and to keep their presentations for later retrieval from Skirball conference and seminar rooms. Please use Park Till 5am to move files around during the day and Temporary Presentations for your PowerPoint presentations. Park Till 5 AM is automatically and irreversibly erased every morning at 5am (there are no exceptions and no backups) but Temporary Presentations directory is not erased.

Saturn's full name is saturn.med.nyu.edu (use in place of its IP Address).
Titan's full name is titan.skb.med.nyu.edu (use in place of its IP Address).

Please note the domain: skb.med.nyu.edu
Do not use the old IP address since it will not work.

NOTE:
Any aliases pointing to Saturn or Titan volumes that were originally created using AppleTalk will fail. Only aliases created after TCP/IP connection to Saturn or Titan was established will work properly. This applies to aliases that you may have created on your desktop and the list of Recent Servers in the Apple Menu
