Mac OSX TCP/IP Configuration
Once you have submitted the IP address request form make sure that your TCP/IP control panel is configured properly. This page shows how to set it up under Mac OSX.

OSX Apple Talk procedures are covered on this page
Go to the Apple Menu in the upper left corner of your screen and open System Preferences.
When System Preferences windows opens click on the Network icon to access the networking options.
Make sure that Built-in Ethernet is selected from the Show drop-down menu and that the TCP/IP tab is selected so the window should look something like the picture on the right. However, the picture shows you the final configuration. From the Configure drop-down menu select Using DHCP. Leave the DHCP Client ID field blank. In the DNS Servers field type:

10.160.132.172
10.134.252.100
10.134.252.101

In the Search domains type:

skb.med.nyu.edu - and hit Return
med.nyu. edu - and hit Return
nyu.edu

Click the Apply Now button and wait a minute. The fields: IP address, Subnet Mask and Router should get automatically populated. In the IP Address field you should see a number starting with 10.160... if you see any other number that means your machine is not receiving the correct IP address. Make sure that you have requested and IP address or email us for help

The PPPoE and Proxies tabs are not used and the Apple Talk configuration is covered on this page.
Under OSX version 10.3 and later The window looks a little different.
