Windows 2000 TCP/IP Configuration
You can verify that a correct IP was assigned from the DOS command prompt window. Also, in a rare situation that a PC does not get an IP assigned after a new one was requested you may need to manually refresh the DHCP assigned IP address using the same command.

The command is, for Windows 2000 and XP: ipconfig.

ipconfig - gives you basic information about your TCP/IP configuration
ipconfig/all - gives you extended information
ipconfig/release - releases the DHCP assigned IP address
ipconfig/renew - renews the IP by requesting an update from the DHCP server

You will find detailed instructions below.
To invoke the command line terminal select Run from the Start menu and type cmd in the Open field.
The command line terminal will open. Type ipconfig/all and hit Enter.
Your complete configuration will be displayed. Drag-enlarge the window to see everything. Your IP Address should begin with 10.160... if you see any other number that means your machine is not receiving the correct IP address. Make sure that you have requested and IP address or email us for help
To force renewal of IP address type ipconfig/renew and hit Enter. After a pause that may take a minute or more you should see your refreshed IP configuration.
