Connecting to the Skirball wireless network using your Active Directory ID
The process is relatively simple. It doesn't require you to install any VPN clients or any other extra software. It's entirely done using your Network control panel.
Open the System Preferences... 01
Click the Network control panel to open it. 02
If you know how to, you can create a Location specifically for the wireless connection, but it shouldn't be necessary. Select your location from the top menu, otherwise go to the next step... 03
From the Show menu select AirPort. If AirPort is not available, then look at the bottom of the page to see how to enable it. 04
From the By default, join: menu select Preferred networks 05
Click the + button in the lower left to add a network...

From the Network Name: menu select nuymcmobile...
06
From the Wireless Security: menu select LEAP... 08b
Enter your Active Directory user name and password and click OK... 08a
You should see nyumcmobile added to the list. Click the Apply Now button and close the control panel. You should be connected now – open a web browser and load any webpage to verify the connection. 09
If your AirPort isn't available from the menu, click the Show menu and chose Network Port Configuration... 11
Put a checkbox next to AirPort to enable it. If you don't see AirPort on this list that means your Mac doesn't have an AirPort card installed or it's disconnected or malfunctioning. 12
How to add a default domain name. While in the Network control panel under AirPort, click the TCP/IP tab/button... 13
In the Search Domains: type: skb.med.nyu.edu or any other depending on your location (srb.med.nyu.edu, msb.med.nyu.edu) and click the Apply Now button. With this settingin place you can just type saturn or titan instead of the full DNS name: saturn.skb.med.nyu.edu or titan.skb.med.nyu.edu. 14
