Getting to Fishell Lab at the Smilow Research Building

The Smilow Neuroscience Program is located at 522 First Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets in Manhattan, New York City. The entrance is within the main NYU Medical Center Entrance Lobby which is distinguished by a overhang covered semi-circular drive-through driveway directly on First Avenue. Upon entering the lobby, the Smilow research building can be reached by walking down the corridor to the immediate right of the security desk. After passing through two sets of glass doors you will reach an elevator bank. Fishell Lab is located on the fifth floor. Upon leaving the elevator, the Fishell laboratory is situated on the south east side of the buliding through the laboratory entrance.
 

From Airports
Laguardia Airport: Bus Transport to Grand Central Station ($7-15). A taxi will cost approximately $35-40

JFK Airport: Bus Transport to Grand Central Station ($7-15). A taxi currently costs a flat rate of $45.
Newark Airport: Bus Transport to Grand Central Station ($11). A taxi will cost approximately $45-50


Subway
The closest subway stops are (subway costs $2.00):

Grand Central Station at 42nd Street between Third Avenue and Park Avenue. Connections by bus to all NYC airports.

33rd Street stop on the Number 6 line.


From Penn Station
NYUMC/Skirball is directly across 34th street from Penn Station. Take the M34 bus going East (south side of the street) to its final stop. Taxis may deposit passengers at the main lobby entrance at 32nd Street and First Avenue.


Bus
The M15 bus runs the length of First Avenue in Manhattan and stops directly in front of the Skirball Institute.

The M34 bus runs the length of 34th street in Manhattan and stops directly in front of the north entrance to NYU Medical center on 34th street east of First Avenue one block from the Skirball Institute.

The M16 bus directly connects nationwide bus service at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (42nd Street and 8th Avenue) with the NYU Medical Center 34th street entrance bus stop.
