THE YELON LAB

CARDIAC DEVELOPMENT
NYU MedicalCenter
Skirball Institute-Developmental genetics

The goal of our laboratory’s research is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that specify the size and shape of each cardiac chamber. Identification of genes that regulate chamber formation is likely to illuminate the etiology of common types of congenital heart disease. Moreover, we envision that our studies will facilitate innovative therapies for repair of both congenital and acquired heart defects.
