What to do with a MoAb or antiserum
you have received from an outside source:
(this procedure pertains to MoAbs and antiserum you receive from outside sources, antisera raised by the lab are handeled by David directly) Please consult with an experienced labmate regarding the best procedure for aliquoting and storing "your" antibody. Once you have decided on a storage strategy (i.e. 4 deg C, 50% glycerol in -20 deg C, fozen aliquots in -80 degC, etc), pencil this in on the original and on a copy of the datasheet that arrived with the antibody and give this copy to Rivka. The sheet will be entered into a chronologically-ordered log-book of immunochemicals. In the future, when possible, please update this log, recording critical events in the life of "your" reagent (e.g. "on such and such a date, transfered all 10 existing tubes to colleague X, now stored in...") Please help us preserve this important resource. June 29, 2004
