Faculty Openings 2006
New York University School of Medicine is continuing a major expansion of the Department of Pathology under the leadership of our Chair, David B. Roth, MD, PhD. We are seeking outstanding candidates to fill several junior- and senior-level faculty positions in the Program in Molecular Oncology, one of three basic research programs in the Department. The Program in Molecular Oncology is strong in cell-cycle control, ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis, oncogenes, genetic recombination, chromosome biology, transcriptional regulation, mouse models, and cell signaling.
Ideal candidates will complement and expand our existing strengths. Candidates must have completed at least two years of postdoctoral training and developed an innovative research program in cancer biology. Competitive startup packages and newly renovated laboratory space are augmented by existing core facilities including imaging, genomics/proteomics, bioinformatics, high-speed flow cytometry, generation of mutant mouse models, and research histopathology and immunohistochemistry, as well as new facilities being developed in the Joan and Joel Smilow Research Center. The Department is home to a vigorous, NIH-funded graduate and postdoctoral training program and comprises more than 30 basic scientists holding primary faculty appointments and over 100 students and postdoctoral fellows. The intellectual environment of the Department is enriched by interactions between basic and clinical scientists and by close ties to other departments, the Skirball Institute, the NYU Cancer Institute, and the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
Candidates interested in the Program of Molecular Oncology should e-mail their curriculum vitæ, names and contact information for three references, and a brief description of their research interests (all in PDF format) to pathmolonc@med.nyu.edu. We will send you an e-mail confirmation within 2 business days of receiving your application materials. If you do not receive such a confirmation, please contact Andrea Hines at (212) 263-0945 or e-mail her at hinesa01@med.nyu.edu.
