Mass Spectrometers in the Neubert Lab
Our lab is equipped with three Waters/Micromass Quadrupole Time-of-Flight (Q-TOF Premier, Q-TOF Micro and Q-TOF 1) mass spectrometers with nanoelectrospray ion sources directly coupled to nanoflow CapLC or NanoAquity systems, a MALDI Q-TOF, a Micromass TofSpec-2E Matrix assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometer, and a ThermoFinnigan LCQ Deca XP ion trap mass spectrometer with LC Packings (Dionex) Analyzer HPLC system. Recently we have acquired a Thermo Electron LTQ-Orbitrap mass spectrometer coupled directly to a Waters NanoAquity UPLC nanoflow system. This instrument was purchased through a generous grant from the 100 Women in Hedge Fund Foundation to support the discovery of serum and plasma biomarkers for the early detection of ovarian cancer.
