Postdoctoral Position in Biological Mass Spectrometry for Biomarker Discovery

We have an opening for a postdoctoral position (or Assistant Research Scientist) to do biological mass spectrometry in collaboration with a number of outstanding clinical investigators at the New York University School of Medicine. The position will afford the opportunity to work on the identification of protein and peptide biomarkers for the early detection of cancer. The lab is equipped with three Micromass nanoelectrospray LC-Q-TOF mass spectrometers, a nano-LC ion trap, MALDI-TOF and MALDI Q-TOF mass spectrometers, and a Thermo Electron LTQ-Orbitrap system. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Cell Biology with some experience in protein purification/characterization and/or biological mass spectrometry. Especially well qualified Masters level scientists will also be considered for the position.
