Negatively stained tubular crystals of the copper transporter, CopA (N and C-terminally truncated). The photos were taken on the CM12, at a magnification of 66k. The tubes are more than 10um long and 35 nm wide. DOPC with a Lipid:Protein ratio of 0.4, pH 6.3. A copper chelator and phosphate analogue (MgF42-) were also added, trapping CopA in the E2 state of its enzymatic cycle.
